MORS PRINCIPIUM EST To Enter Studio In November
August 14, 2004Finnish melodic death/thrash metallers MORS PRINCIPIUM EST will enter Tico Tico studio (SONATA ARCTICA, SENTENCED, FOR MY PAIN…, ALTARIA) in Kemi, Finland in November to begin recording their sophomore album, tentatively titled "The Unborn". Mastering will take place at Finnvox studios in December 2004. The cover art for the album will be handled by Mattias Norèn (www.progart.com).
The band recently offered the following description of the material that is set to appear on the new album:
"In comparison to [the debut CD] 'Inhumanity' [2003], the new album will take a step towards heavier and somewhat darker atmosphere still containing the overall melodic grasp of music presented. The album is full of diversity and the songs have a slightly more modern approach as in form of sampling and the use of computer programming among Mikko's [Sipola] traditional drum work.
"As for the rhythm and solo parts, twin guitars will have the main role and the keyboard continues to color the background without being introduced as a solo instrument on this album either. Ville's [Viljanen] growling has developed since inhumanity and some serious voice control will be heard, also some clean vocals are used but the weight is kept on Ville's throat. Overall, the album shall be an overall solid example of the fact that the 'melodic death metal' as a scene is still pretty far from its possible expiration date."
MORS PRINCIPIUM EST's "The Unborn" is scheduled for a spring 2005 release through France's Listenable Records.
